I tried to use this business based on the reviews and bc it is female owned. BUT when I called the main line the person answering the phone just said “yeah”. So I had to ask if I had the right number. They put me on hold. I hung up. They called back. I scheduled (maybe an off day for this person, idk). They scheduled w me for the very next day - then never called - never showed - mailbox full. That’s my experience.
We had a great experience with Austin Plumbery! I searched for “woman-owned plumbing business” and Austin Plumbery came right up with many excellent reviews. I enjoyed reading about the history of the company on their easy to read/easy to use website. Communication with Deborah was prompt and seamless. Joe diagnosed our toilet issue and had to order a part. He also checked on three other small issues we had and came up with solutions right on the spot. Travis came a few days later with the new part fixed the leak. Everyone was extremely personable and authentic. We highly recommend their services.
I called Austin Plumbery as a third opinion on an issue going on with my sewer drain line. Ultimately they did not do repair work for me so I am rating them based on an initial diagnostic visit and a follow up. Strengths: - Cool that it's a local, women, and latino owned business - For the first call they were much more thorough than my first two opinions and actually identified that the issue was a lot less bad than I originally thought. Overall, I was really pleased that they didn't just go off of what the two previous guys said, but actually confirmed for themselves. Honestly, this alone saved me thousands of dollars and weeks of work to tunnel under my foundation and replace my pipes. The bad: - After this initial call, I wanted to get the issue fixed ASAP and requested a quote for the repair. It took them a whole week of me calling them every day to finally receive a quote for them *just* to dig a hole in my yard to see what was going on. On the day and time they were supposed to come, they flaked and said they'd have to come the following day instead, which would have been fine except that I had to call them and it was already the end of the day. - Because it had already been more than a week since the tech had been out to my house, the spray paint lines showing where the pipes were in my yard were gone. The tech did not have a scope to be able to figure out where the pipes were so had to go back to the shop to pick it up. He said he would give us a call back but never did. Overall, I'm disappointed because I wanted to give this company my business but ultimately I had to go with another company.
DISHONEST and UNPROFESSIONAL, called these guys with intentions of supporting a local company. Should have taken the warning signs when they took almost a whole day to return my call and didn't show up when scheduled to, i spoke with Joe and he stated he would be by within a couple of hours and did not show up till the next day. I decided to give them the opportunity to perform the repairs they recommended and after 4 days from the day they started repairs to now, I am still experiencing the same problems! The pictures and information on their website is deceiving (including address and staff), Joe apparently is a "one man band", he was the only one who showed up, the only one who answered the phone (initially) and the only one who can make a decision to fix my repairs properly, he (they) obviously has chosen not to stand by his work. Joe may be great at changing faucets and swapping toilets, but if you need other plumbing services and complicated work, look for someone else.
